Imphal: Manipur football authorities named Th. Joyshing Monsang as the Best Referee of the Year. He received the Oja Benudhar Memorial Trophy and 5,000 rupees. The All Manipur Football Association handed over the prize at the closing of the 65th C.C. Meet 2025-26. The family of the late Chongtham Benudhar Singh sponsors the award to honor top-tier officiating.

Joyshing lives in Japhou Bazar, Chandel district. He started his refereeing career in 2015. He pushed hard to earn his stripes. After passing the national exam in 2019, he became an AIFF National Elite Referee in 2022. He remains the only referee from Manipur to hold this status.

He has worked major matches across the map. His resume includes stints in I-League 2, I-League 3, and the Santosh Trophy. He also took his whistle to AFC Youth Tournaments in Malaysia and Tajikistan. When asked about his career, the official emphasized the weight of his progress.

Beyond the professional ranks, he helps the District Sports Association Chandel grow the game locally. His rise sets a high bar for young athletes in the region. The state football community views his trophy as a major win for the district.
