Imphal: The District Headquarters Baptist Churches Fellowship of Chandel hosted a special prayer programme on Saturday at the District H/Q Baptist Church in Japhou Bazar. Over 200 believers, including church leaders, youth, and members from various Baptist congregations, gathered to seek peace, justice, and the restoration of normalcy across Manipur. The service also served as a memorial for the six Naga men recently killed near Konsakhul.

Moderated by Pastor Alembert Langhu, the event brought together people from different tribal communities to foster unity. During the session, Rev. Sng. Nelson and Rev. J. Simon condemned the ongoing violence and urged the public to abandon hatred in favor of compassion and reconciliation. The pastors emphasized that the church must lead the way in restoring social harmony during times of crisis.

Rev. K. Kumar Monsang, Chairman of the fellowship, appealed to government officials, security forces, and community leaders to coordinate efforts to stabilize the region. He noted the vital influence of religious institutions, stating, "The role of the Church in fostering harmony during difficult times" remains essential for the healing process. The programme concluded with a call for communal unity before participants departed.
