Agartala: The federal government is pushing Tripura’s farm exports. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced plans to promote the state's scented rice, ginger, and jackfruit on Sunday. This move aims to match the international success of the region's Queen pineapple.

Chouhan spoke at the Tripura Global Pineapple Festival in New Delhi. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with driving the focus on regional goods. The minister praised the local produce for its quality. "The Queen pineapple has carved out a distinct identity because of its exceptional taste and sweet aroma," Chouhan said.

The push targets better market access for local growers. Officials including Chief Minister Manik Saha and Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath received praise for their work. The government believes this strategy will lift the state’s economy and bolster national agricultural growth.
