Imphal: Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs Deputy Secretary Ganesh Nagaranjan visited Churachandpur on Monday to fast-track the NITI Aayog Aspirational District Programme. He led a review meeting at the Mini Secretariat alongside Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar to sharpen the district's focus on 39 Key Performance Indicators. These metrics track five core areas: health, education, agriculture, finance, and skill development.
Nagaranjan demanded better teamwork across departments. He pushed officials to track projects closely to ensure quality and meet deadlines. The administration must fix gaps. Kumar tasked the District Rural Development Agency with better data entry and a more active role in the field.
The team inspected a new health facility for women and children currently under construction in Lamka South. This block previously earned national praise for its development work. Nagaranjan promised to address local grievances, stating, "genuine concerns would be escalated to the appropriate authorities for swift resolution."
Local officials including ADC Thangboi Gangte and SDO Jangminlen Lupho joined the inspection tour. The district now looks to maintain its reputation for excellence through rigorous monitoring of these targets.
