Itanagar: The federal government greenlit 17 road infrastructure projects for Arunachal Pradesh. These works carry a total price tag of Rs 611.17 crore. The money flows through the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund for the 2026-27 period. State officials asked for Rs 592.50 crore, but the Centre raised the final investment amount.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu broke the news on social media. He pointed to the commitment from federal leadership. "Our state's development journey has received another significant boost with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), Government of India, approving 17 road projects worth Rs 611.17 crore under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) 2026-27 for Arunachal Pradesh," Khandu wrote.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways confirmed the move in an official letter. The work covers several districts. Crews will build new roads and upgrade existing district links. The plan targets better transportation for people living in remote areas.
Key construction sites include the Ningcho-Langpia road in East Kameng and the Latsum Pate-Namorah road in Pakke Kessang. Workers will also tackle the Hara Happa to Upper Nyorch road in Papum Pare. Other segments include the Gengi to Subansiri Ferry Ghat road in Lower Siang and the Mirem to Resing road in East Siang.
