CCTV Gaps Stall Laban Animal Poisoning Probe

Shillong: Investigators hunting for the person who poisoned stray animals in Laban hit a wall Thursday. Blind spots in the local CCTV network left officials without clear footage of the crime scene near the Circuit House. No suspects are in custody.

Volunteers scoured the area for more evidence and found a stray dog trapped in nearby bushes. While one surviving dog shows signs of recovery after another vet visit, its condition remains poor. The animal needs constant care. As one volunteer noted, the dog is "showing slow but steady signs of recovery" despite its ongoing weakness.

The search for justice loses momentum tomorrow. A public holiday will stall the investigation into Friday. Detectives still lack final lab reports on the tainted food and a dead bird recovered from the scene.
