Guwahati: Cachar district officials sealed the Parijat Restaurant-cum-Spa on June 30. The establishment sits along the Silchar-Haflong National Highway. Police shut the doors following reports of illegal activities inside. A recent raid triggered the shutdown. Officers arrested Dr. J.P. Das during the operation. He currently faces court proceedings.

Superintendent of Police Rajat Kumar Pal oversaw the sealing. He stood with district officials to finish the legal process. The investigation remains active. Local authorities warn that more businesses could face similar shutdowns if they break the law.

"Police would continue taking strict action against hotels, restaurants and spa centres found to be involved in illegal activities," Pal said. He promised that his team will show no tolerance for those who violate the law.
