Guwahati: BTC Chief Executive Member Hagrama Mohilary took charge of a progress review on July 1 in Mushalpur. He gathered heads of departments to grill them on infrastructure projects spanning the Baksa district. The meeting hit the Public Works Department, rural development, and urban boards.
Mohilary went deep into the status of state and central funds. He tracked money from the 15th Finance Commission and the 6th State Finance Commission. Schemes under the microscope included PMAY-G, MGNREGA, and the Asom Mala project. Success depends on the details. Officials must track every cent and stone.
He expects results. Mohilary pushed his staff to prioritize quality and speed to get aid directly to the people. He told those in charge: "He directed all MLAs and MCLAs to undertake regular field visits to monitor the implementation of development works."
The Chief warned he would start inspecting sites himself. He plans to keep the pressure on with frequent meetings to clear any blockages. Thaneswar Basumatary and Maneswar Brahma sat in on the session. Mohilary demanded total coordination from every official involved to build up the region.
