Border standoff sparks chaos between BSF and BGB in Assam

Guwahati: A tense standoff erupted along the India-Bangladesh border in the Sribhumi district today. The trouble started in the Bilbari area when the Border Security Force attempted to push a group of Bangladeshi nationals across the line. The Border Guard Bangladesh refused to accept the group. They blocked the move entirely.

Locals from nearby villages flocked to the fence. They carried knives, sticks, and bamboo poles to support the BGB. The mob presence turned the border zone into a powder keg. Personnel from the BGB Pallathal border outpost used loudspeakers to warn the BSF. They demanded the force pull back immediately.

The BGB issued a stark warning during the heated confrontation. They stated they would be "forced to open fire if the situation escalated and if the people were not withdrawn." The BSF has yet to calm the situation as villagers remain gathered at the border.
