Bhutan Prime Minister Visits Assam to Deepen Regional Ties

Guwahati: Bhutan Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay arrived in Guwahati on Monday for an official visit aimed at bolstering the partnership between Bhutan and the state of Assam. Assam Parliamentary Affairs Minister Atul Bora welcomed the Prime Minister at the State Guest House in Koinadhora to begin discussions on future cooperation.

Minister Bora emphasized that the relationship between the two regions is rooted in deep historical, social, and cultural connections built on mutual trust. He noted that the visit serves as a platform to expand these ties and create new opportunities for ongoing cultural exchange.

The reception included several key figures from both governments. Assam Director General of Police Harmeet Singh and General Administration Department Secretary Narsing Pawar joined the Minister to represent the state, while senior officials from the Bhutanese government also attended the meeting.
