Kohima: The Dimapur branch of Bharat Vikas Parishad set its path for the 2026-27 session. Members met to dissolve the outgoing executive committee after reviewing the 2025-26 annual report. The Regional Office gave the green light to the new leadership on August 4.
General Secretary Arijit Sharma detailed past service projects and cultural programs. The membership backed his report before naming Ganesh Sharma as president. Deepankar Sarkar and Sravani Kar will serve as vice-presidents. Arijit Sharma remains general secretary, CA Rajib Saha takes the treasurer role, and Subhash Burman leads as cultural secretary.
The team also tapped Angshik Sharma Biswas to lead Bharat Ko Jano and Sumi Das to head the National Group Singing Competition. Thirty executive members joined the ranks to drive upcoming community projects. These members have been assigned various tasks for the next year.
Growth is the primary goal. The branch intends to open two new locations in Kohima and Chümoukedima within the next quarter. Leadership hopes these additions will push national integration across the state. The newly elected office-bearers thanked members for their confidence and pledged to "work towards strengthening the organisation, expanding grassroots activities and undertaking programmes for the welfare of society."
