Baptist College Kohima Celebrates 44th Freshers Day

Kohima: Baptist College Kohima hosted its 44th Freshers Day on June 30 at Ura Academy Hall. The event celebrated new students under the theme New Beginnings, Endless Possibilities. Deputy Commissioner B. Henok Buchem served as the guest speaker.

College life brings freedom and responsibility. Buchem told the crowd, "Education extends beyond textbooks and degrees, shaping both knowledge and character." He pushed students to value integrity, resilience, and compassion while adapting to a tech-driven world.

Principal Dr. Kekuchol Pusa opened the event and noted the arrival of upcoming internal assessments. Students Council president Thrunso K. offered greetings, while representative Donensangle thanked the seniors for the warm welcome.

Assistant Professor Tabitha K. Assumi chaired the program. The day featured a welcome song from fifth-semester students, a musical performance, and the introduction of the new Mr. and Miss Freshers. College Chaplain Tamreimung Chüsi closed the event with a prayer.
