Bad weather grounds MP Tai Tagak's flood survey in Arunachal

Itanagar: Persistent storms grounded Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak on July 7. He planned an aerial survey of flood-damaged districts in Arunachal Pradesh. A Global Vectra Bell 412 helicopter sat idling at the Naharlagun helipad all day. The weather never cleared.

Tagak aimed to check Siji, Igor, Basar, Koyu, and the Pasighat landing ground. These areas sit across Lower Siang, Leparada, and East Siang districts. Now, the lawmaker will conduct inspections from the ground instead.

Tagak recently visited Keyi Panyor after a June 24 cloudburst destroyed homes. He pledged to secure aid from New Delhi. "As a representative of the state in the Rajya Sabha, I will seek every possible support from the Central government to help the affected districts," Tagak said.

He wants to guarantee that essential supplies reach trapped families. His team plans to coordinate with district officials to manage logistics. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Kiren Rijiju, and Chief Minister Pema Khandu already surveyed the damage earlier this week.
