At Least 20 Dead After Massive Fire Hits Delhi Restaurant

Shillong: A devastating fire at the multi-storied Lemon Green Restaurant in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, has left at least 20 people dead. Dozens of others sustained injuries, with some victims reported to be in critical condition. Rescue teams have successfully evacuated 37 individuals who were subsequently transported to nearby hospitals.

The blaze broke out on Wednesday morning, prompting an urgent response from the Delhi Fire Services, local police, and the Delhi Disaster Management Authority. Officials dispatched ten fire tenders to the scene, and while the fire is now under control, the building sustained heavy damage. Reports indicate that some individuals attempted to jump from upper floors to escape the flames.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed her condolences to the families of the victims and pledged government assistance for all those impacted. Emergency crews are currently continuing their search of the premises to locate any remaining individuals who may still be trapped inside. Authorities remain on-site to monitor the situation and oversee ongoing relief efforts.
