Guwahati: Preeti Shah has earned national recognition after securing a gold medal for topping her Master’s degree program in Hindi at Sikkim University. President Droupadi Murmu presented the award to Shah during the university's recent convocation ceremony.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the achievement, stating that it serves as proof that talent outweighs one's background. He emphasized that the state government remains dedicated to fostering opportunities for young people to succeed regardless of their financial circumstances.
Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka also celebrated the milestone, noting that Shah is the daughter of a local street vendor, Ramananda Shah. He described the moment as a source of pride for the entire community and an inspiration for students across Assam. The academic success of Shah has garnered widespread acclaim online, where many have highlighted her dedication and hard work in the face of significant obstacles.
