Guwahati: Security forces in Assam successfully prevented 10 individuals from illegally entering the state early on May 23. Personnel from the Assam Police and the Border Security Force coordinated their efforts to identify and intercept the group during a joint operation along the international border.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the news on social media, emphasizing that the state continues to prioritize smart detection and rapid response measures. He noted that these actions are essential components of the government's vision for a secure and protected Assam.

The successful interception follows a recent push by the state government to strengthen border vigilance. Authorities have committed to a detect and deport policy, relying on improved inter-agency cooperation and sustained patrolling to monitor vulnerable border areas and discourage illegal cross-border movement.
