Guwahati: The All Party Hills Leaders' Conference (APHLC) has expelled youth leader Angtong Engti from its primary membership. The party issued the formal order on Tuesday, citing a history of anti-party activities and multiple breaches of organizational discipline.
APHLC President J.I. Kathar, a retired IAS officer, confirmed that the decision follows a series of internal warnings and discussions that failed to resolve the conduct issues. The party stated that Engti repeatedly acted against its core interests, leading to a thorough review of incidents dating back to September 2021.
The expulsion took effect on June 3, 2026, and was executed according to the party's constitutional procedures. As of this report, Engti has not provided a public response to the disciplinary action.
