Assam Rifles Seize Morphine in Agartala, One Arrested

Agartala: Assam Rifles personnel seized approximately 180 grams of morphine in Agartala on May 20. The contraband, valued at roughly Rs 18 lakh, was recovered near the local railway station in the West Tripura district.

Authorities conducted the search following specific intelligence about narcotics activity in the area. The operation was carried out in coordination with the Customs Department.

During the raid, officers apprehended a suspect identified as Arun Kumar Chakma. Officials have since transferred both the seized morphine and the detained individual to the Customs Department to continue the investigation and initiate formal legal proceedings.
