Assam Rifles Boosts Youth Skills and Military Family Support in Nagaland

Kohima: Assam Rifles marked World Youth Skills Day on July 15 by running outreach events in Avangkhu, Meluri, and Naginimora. They focused on jobs, vocational training, and entrepreneurship. Over 20 villagers turned out in Avangkhu. Another 51 students and five teachers attended the session in Naginimora. Soldiers gave clear instructions on how to join the Armed Forces and the Nagaland Police, covering physical standards and testing requirements.

Sessions hit on modern farming, digital literacy, and financial awareness. Officials urged local youth to pick up skills to stay competitive. Attendees joined discussions on career planning and how to build a career in the current market. These events strengthened local ties and aimed to boost self-reliance in border regions.

The force shifted gears on July 17 in Jalukie, Peren district. They held a special session titled Rubaru for the families of serving troops. Dr. Vandini Setia led the event. It focused on mental health and open communication. They called the program "Creative Minds, Compassionate Hearts" (Shabdon ka Sparsh – Jo Chot Bhi Dein Aur Marham Bhi Bane). Participants shared personal stories through open forums and creative exercises. This move aims to help families handle the unique stress of military life.
