Guwahati: Sribhumi Police busted a massive drug haul yesterday. They seized 11,695 bottles of a suspected intoxicating substance worth Rs 2.34 crore. Three suspects are now in custody. Officers are working to trace the origins of the contraband and map out the broader trafficking network involved in the drop.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the operation as a major hit against local drug trade. He posted a blunt message on social media about the loss to the criminal syndicate. "Some lessons are expensive. For this drug network, the bill came to Rs 2.34 crore," Sarma said.

The state government continues its Assam Against Drugs campaign with relentless pressure. Sarma promised no letup in the pursuit of dealers. "You can keep trying, but Assam Police will always try harder," he stated. Investigators are processing the evidence now as they prepare to bring formal charges against the trio.
