Assam Police Investigate Allegations of Forced Beef Consumption at Goalpara School

Guwahati: A formal complaint has been filed at the Krishnai Police Station in Assam after allegations surfaced that students were pressured to consume beef. The incident reportedly occurred at Habraghat Higher Secondary School in the Goalpara district, where five students from the Muslim community allegedly brought beef into a classroom.

According to the complaint, these students attempted to force two Hindu classmates to eat the meat. The affected students were subjected to significant mental pressure when they refused the demand. The issue emerged after the two students recounted the classroom incident to their parents upon returning home.

Families have also accused the school administration of negligence, claiming that authorities failed to address the situation internally and tried to suppress the incident. Confirming the case, Officer-in-Charge of Krishnai Police Station Anand Rabha said, "the parents of the affected students had filed a complaint at the police station in connection with the incident."

The allegations have caused notable unrest in the local community. Residents are now calling for a thorough investigation into the events and the school's response to the situation.
