Guwahati: Authorities in Assam arrested a man after uncovering 308 grams of cannabis during a late-night raid in Dibrugarh district. The operation took place at No. 2 Dikhari village within the Moran Police Station jurisdiction, a location officials had monitored for recent reports of illegal drug activity.

A specialized team, led by the Tingkhang Circle Deputy Superintendent of Police along with the Moran Police Station Officer-in-Charge and a Sub-Inspector, executed the surprise search. They arrived at the residence of Bobi Moran, where they found Pankaj Dutta of Moran Natun Nagar in possession of the contraband.

Police took Dutta into custody and processed the seizure under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Officials stated that an investigation is currently active, adding that they are working to "ascertain the source of the cannabis and to determine whether others were involved in the alleged trafficking network."
