Guwahati: Mukesh Sonowal fell to his death from an under-construction building in Hyderabad on July 7. The young man from Margherita left his home just one month ago to find work. He traveled across the country to support his wife, young son, and daughter. Now, the family is devastated.

The cause of the fall remains unclear. Officials have yet to provide a firm explanation for how he died. As the sole breadwinner for his household, his death leaves his family in a dire financial situation. The bereaved family has appealed to the state government and local officials for help. They want his mortal remains brought home for final rites.

Local advocacy groups are backing the family in this fight. The Pengeri-Bordumsa Regional Students' Union has urged the government to "facilitate the transportation of the body to Assam and provide adequate compensation to the financially distressed family." Everyone is waiting for more details on exactly how this tragedy happened.
