Assam man dies following fatal rice mill machinery accident

Guwahati: A 60-year-old man died following a severe industrial accident at a rice mill in Assam's Bongaigaon district. Abu Bakkar Siddique was processing paddy at a facility located in the Golapara Islam Market when the tragedy occurred.

Witnesses report that Siddique became entangled in the machinery's belt mechanism. The force of the equipment caused his leg to be severed, resulting in critical injuries. Although he was rushed to Kalgachia Hospital for emergency care, he succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the healthcare facility.

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Kokila Police Outpost. Local residents expressed profound shock and grief, as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death. Official reports confirmed the victim died after his "leg allegedly became trapped in the belt mechanism of the machine, causing severe injuries."
