Guwahati: Assam scrapped limits on commercial LPG cylinders effective immediately. Chief Secretary Ravi Kota confirmed the move on Thursday. The decision marks a return to normal operations for businesses across the state.
Supply chains stalled earlier due to the crisis in West Asia. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas reviewed the situation before ordering the shift. Kota noted that the central government decided to restore commercial LPG supplies to pre-crisis levels to ensure availability for industries. He said: "The Government of India has decided to restore commercial LPG supplies to pre-crisis levels."
Hotels and restaurants faced rough patches under the old rules. These outlets struggled with fuel shortages for weeks. Operators now expect stable access to gas. Normal flow returns today.
