Guwahati: The Assam government inaugurated the Madhapur Railway Over Bridge in the Dibrugarh district on June 21. This significant infrastructure project cost Rs 72 crore and spans 830 metres in length.
Completed under the guidance of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the bridge aims to streamline travel by eliminating the frequent delays caused by railway crossing closures. Officials stated that the project will enhance road safety and strengthen connectivity between critical areas of the district, which is expected to help trade and economic activity.
The state government views this project as a key milestone in its broader mission to modernize transportation networks. According to official reports, the bridge is expected to play an important role in supporting the socio-economic development of the region by improving accessibility and easing the movement of people and goods. By reducing traffic congestion, the bridge provides a smoother transit experience for both local commuters and commercial transporters across the region.
