Guwahati: The Assam government is rolling out rigorous security measures for the upcoming NEET-UG 2026 medical entrance examination to ensure a fair testing process. These protocols were finalized during a high-level meeting involving the Chief Secretary, the Director General of Police, and various district officials.
A primary rule for the exam centers is a strict prohibition on mobile phones. This ban applies to all candidates, invigilators, and staff members, with the only exceptions being devices specifically authorized by the National Testing Agency for official duties. To uphold the integrity of the process, district leaders have been tasked with personally inspecting examination centers and strong rooms to ensure answer scripts remain secure until they are dispatched.
Officials stated that all stakeholders must work together to maintain the highest standards of security, transparency, and fairness during the NEET-UG 2026 examination. Authorities are also focusing on operational preparedness, including vetting personnel hired through third-party agencies and monitoring social media to prevent the spread of rumors.
District administrations are further preparing for logistics and student welfare. This includes coordinating transportation for those traveling from neighboring areas and planning for potential monsoon disruptions to ensure that all candidates can reach their test sites without issue.
