Guwahati: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya hosted Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the state cabinet for a dinner at Lok Bhawan on Saturday evening. The event included the Governor's wife, Kumud Devi, and the Chief Minister's wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma. The 16 ministers recently appointed to the new cabinet also attended the gathering.

The dinner followed the full formation of the state government after the BJP-led NDA secured a third consecutive term. While the Chief Minister and four initial ministers were sworn in on May 12, the remaining 12 members of the Council of Ministers took their oaths on Friday to finalize the cabinet.

Following the event, the Chief Minister took to social media to thank the Governor for the hospitality. "Grateful to Hon'ble Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya Ji and Smt Kumud Devi ji for hosting #TeamAssam at Lok Bhawan today," he posted. Sarma also emphasized that the Governor's insights and guidance remain vital for the effective functioning of the state government.
