Assam Cricket Museum Inaugurated in Guwahati to Celebrate Sporting Heritage

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma officially inaugurated the Assam Cricket Museum on Monday at the Barsapara ACA Stadium in Guwahati. This new facility serves as a dedicated space to preserve the state's extensive sporting heritage, housing archival records, rare memorabilia, and documentation of significant milestones in local cricket history. The collection spans from the pre-Independence era through the modern day, honoring the pioneers and athletes who have defined the sport in the region.

During the event, the Chief Minister also debuted a documentary titled The Golden Innings: Legacy of Assam Cricket. Directed by Samujjal Kashyap, the film provides a detailed look at the evolution of the sport since the Assam Cricket Association was established in 1948. Through a mix of rare photographs and comprehensive narration, the documentary highlights the landmark achievements of the state's cricket icons and serves to inspire future generations of athletes.
