Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has officially reversed the expulsion of senior party member Nilamani Sen Deka. The decision to reinstate the leader takes effect immediately.

APCC General Secretary for Organisation, Ramanna Baruah, confirmed the move. He noted that the decision follows a direct order from Assam PCC President Gaurav Gogoi, who authorized the withdrawal of the expulsion notice originally issued on May 18, 2022.

Party officials have circulated copies of the reinstatement order to high-ranking Congress members, including K. C. Venugopal and Jitendra Singh. The notification was also shared with state lawmakers, members of parliament, and various internal party departments. Observers view this move as a major shift in the state's internal political strategy as the party prepares for upcoming organizational activities.
