Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has commended the Defence Research and Development Organisation for its recent advancements in national security. The praise follows the successful demonstration of India's multi-layered Ballistic Missile Defence system and the first flight-test of the Naval Anti-Ship Missile Medium Range.
The Chief Minister highlighted the strategic importance of these trials, noting that they elevate India's defensive preparedness on the global stage. He specifically praised the ability of the new system to counter high-level threats. "With these successful trials, India now has a phenomenal ballistic missile defence shield that can intercept and neutralise 5,000-km-class enemy missiles at the exo-atmospheric level," Sarma stated on social media.
According to the DRDO, these achievements confirm that India has joined an elite group of nations with the capacity to develop sophisticated ballistic missile technology indigenously. The tests signify a major leap in the country's efforts to strengthen its interception capabilities and overall defense infrastructure.
