Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma opened a new office and hostel for the All Assam Chutia Students Union on June 20. Located at Sadhani Bhawan in the Pathar Quarry area of Guwahati, the facility aims to assist members of the Chutia community who travel to the state capital for administrative or educational requirements.

The Chief Minister noted that the project will function as a vital resource hub for local students. During the ceremony, Sarma stated, "The office and hostel would serve as an important resource centre for the student community, offering accommodation and institutional support to those coming to the state capital from different parts of Assam."

This initiative highlights the government effort to improve community institutions and expand opportunities for students seeking higher education or professional development. Local dignitaries and representatives from the student union attended the inauguration to mark the opening of the new center.
