Guwahati: Assam BJP leaders are digging into the state Congress ranks. They claim the party is collapsing under the weight of internal warfare and broken leadership. State spokesperson Manas Sarania issued a harsh critique from the party headquarters at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan this week.
Sarania pointed to the high command sending observers as proof that things are falling apart. He said the move shows a total lack of trust in APCC president Gaurav Gogoi. The BJP asserts that personal power grabs and constant bickering have left the Congress disconnected from the average voter.
The criticism specifically highlighted a dispute involving Algapur-Katlicherra MLA Zubair Anam. As the state Youth Congress president, Anam remains a flashpoint for the party's internal instability. Sarania argued that the high command intervention in this specific mess proves the central leadership has lost confidence in Gaurav Gogoi's leadership.
The BJP maintains the party is only focused on its own survival. "The Assam Congress has strayed from its core principles and is now battling internal chaos," Sarania stated. The opposition party claims Congress is no longer a viable alternative for the people of Assam.
