Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed on July 23 that the government will float the tender for the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor within days. This project aims to fix traffic flow and stop humans from hitting wildlife during annual floods on the national highway.

Work on the Gohpur-Numaligarh Tunnel is also moving fast. Sarma stated, "The tender for Kaziranga Elevated Corridor will be floated in a few days while extensive planning is underway for the Gohpur-Numaligarh Tunnel, which will be an engineering marvel."

Officials see the tunnel as a strategic win for the region. It will slash travel times between north and south Assam. This link will boost trade, transport, and mobility across the Brahmaputra. These two efforts mark a push to move flagship infrastructure from the planning desk to the field.
