Arunachal Pradesh Wins National Honors at 2026 Tourism Awards

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh earned national recognition at the India Today Tourism Survey and Awards 2026. The state secured the Editor's Choice Award for Adventure Destination for Siang River Rafting, while the Nawang Chotta Homestay in Lumpo Village received the Special Award for Tribal Homestays.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein praised the Department of Tourism, local communities, and industry stakeholders for their role in highlighting the state's cultural and natural appeal. He emphasized that these accolades demonstrate the success of local tourism models in creating jobs while protecting regional heritage.

Reflecting on the achievement, Mein stated, "These recognitions reflect the growing appeal of Arunachal Pradesh as a world-class destination for adventure, culture and authentic travel experiences." He expressed hope that these wins will encourage the continued development of sustainable and responsible travel throughout the region.
