Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced that the state government has successfully addressed concerns regarding illegal immigration and unauthorized religious structures. Authorities have now sealed all 15 identified unauthorized mosques located within the Capital Complex, following the conclusion of necessary legal and administrative procedures.
Khandu explained that the government acted quickly to resolve these issues after they were raised earlier this year. Regarding the mosques, he noted that 12 were cleared or sealed previously, and the final three were shut down recently. "On the issue of unauthorised mosque structures, 15 were identified in the Capital Complex. Of these, 12 were sealed or vacated earlier. The remaining three have now also been sealed after completion of due legal process. As such, all 15 identified cases have been addressed," Khandu stated.
The government is also managing the broader issue of illegal immigration through formal institutional mechanisms and ongoing consultations to ensure a lawful response. Addressing the public, the Chief Minister urged citizens to maintain order and peace. He emphasized that since the government has already delivered results, further public disruption only harms the daily lives of ordinary residents.
