Itanagar: Residents across Pangkang in the Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh participated in a two-day public awareness initiative regarding the proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project. The outreach effort took place on May 25 in Pangkang Jorkong and May 26 in Pangkang Kumku to help locals better understand the infrastructure project and its implications for community welfare.

The first session featured Village Development and SUMP Development Committee President Tamyo Mingki as the chief guest, alongside Vice President Tamo Jerang and Secretary Omak Tali. The second day of the event was led by SUMP Development Committee Chairman Bakin Tali and Vice Chairman Omin Tamut, who focused on fostering an environment of transparency and open dialogue with the local population.

During both sessions, community members were invited to voice their questions and concerns directly to project organizers. To support these discussions, leadership distributed informational booklets to households to ensure that villagers had access to accurate project details. The initiative reflects a broader effort to prioritize grassroots engagement and informed participation throughout the development process.
