Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh government has finalized an agreement with NHPC Limited to develop the 3,097 MW Etalin Hydroelectric Project located in the Dibang Valley. This initiative represents a significant expansion of the state renewable energy infrastructure and aims to bolster the national power grid.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced the agreement, noting that the facility is projected to generate approximately 11,600 million units of clean energy annually upon completion. Beyond power generation, the project is expected to drive economic growth and bring new infrastructure and jobs to remote regions of the state.
Reflecting on the impact of the partnership, the Chief Minister stated, "The Government of Arunachal Pradesh and @nhpcltd have signed the agreement for the massive 3097 MW Etalin Hydroelectric Project in Dibang Valley."
Khandu emphasized that NHPC Limited will prioritize sustainability during the construction process. He noted that the company is tasked with executing the project at scale while ensuring that local communities are actively included in the development journey.
