Arunachal Pradesh Partners with Centre for Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh government has officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti to launch Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0. This agreement aims to fortify drinking water infrastructure and establish long-term water security across the state.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Public Health Engineering Department Minister Mama Natung represented the state during the signing ceremony. The event was held in the presence of Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil and Minister of State for Jal Shakti V. Somanna.

State officials stated that the initiative marks a significant milestone in improving the reliability of drinking water services. The project is designed to enhance existing water supply systems and mitigate water scarcity issues in various regions.

Chief Minister Khandu noted that the mission supports the federal objective of providing safe tap water to every household. He added that the program contributes to the national vision of a developed India by ensuring that citizens have consistent access to essential utility services.
