Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced a sweeping economic plan on August 29, 2026. He shared the Arunachal Human Capital and Economic Transformation Vision 2036 along with the Arun MSME Mission in a video message on X. The state aims to reshape its economy. It will focus on youth employment and local business growth.
The Vision 2036 roadmap targets massive development figures. The state plans to provide training to 1 lakh young people. It will support 10,000 entrepreneurs and engage 10,000 apprentices. Additionally, the government aims to secure 10,000 overseas job placements and form 100 industry partnerships. All 10 existing Industrial Training Institutes will turn into modern skill hubs and centers of excellence.
Khandu noted a major shift in how young people view work. They want to create businesses rather than just find jobs. He said, "Today's youth is not only looking for a job, but also looking for employment."
The Arun MSME Mission will provide direct aid to 500 small and medium enterprises every year. Support includes business revival, capacity upgrades, market linkages, and help with export opportunities. These efforts aim to build a workforce ready for international competition.
Khandu emphasized the necessity of these moves for future success. He stated, "The youth who get skills today will scale the growth of Arunachal tomorrow." The chief minister intends to build an economy driven by talent, innovation, and global opportunity.
