Itanagar: The Election Department in Arunachal Pradesh has launched preparations for a Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The state-wide initiative aims to improve the accuracy of voter records by adding eligible citizens, removing duplicates, and correcting existing information. Chief Electoral Officer Pawan Kumar Sain confirmed that the final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on September 22.

Booth Level Officers will conduct house-to-house verification and collect enumeration forms from June 15 to July 14. Following this, the draft electoral roll will be released on July 21 to allow for the submission of claims and objections. Sain emphasized the importance of the project, stating, "The revision exercise is aimed at maintaining an accurate and updated voter database by enrolling eligible citizens, removing duplicate or ineligible entries and correcting existing records where required."

State officials reported that 50.23 percent of the necessary enumeration forms have been printed. Five districts, including West Kameng, West Siang, Upper Siang, Leparada, and Shi Yomi, have already completed the printing process. To facilitate the exercise, the department has held 38 training sessions for election personnel.

Political parties are also involved in the process, with 3,131 Booth Level Agents appointed across the state. This includes 2,286 agents from the BJP, 422 from the Congress, 239 from the People’s Party of Arunachal, and 100 from the National People’s Party.
