Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein announced that the Subbung and Yembung Small Hydroelectric Projects in the East Siang district are now fully operational within the local grid system. This synchronization marks a major advancement in the state’s effort to modernize its energy infrastructure.

By connecting these two stations, the state can now manage power distribution more effectively. Officials expect this change to improve load sharing, increase the plant load factor, and ensure the generating units operate at higher efficiency. The setup allows for coordinated operations that stabilize electricity delivery across the region.

This initiative will soon expand to include the Mabung Mini Hydel Station. Once that project is commissioned and linked to the same network, the integrated system is expected to provide even greater reliability for local electricity consumers. These upgrades are part of a broader push to strengthen the state’s overall hydropower capacity and energy management systems.
