Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik (Retd) hosted a celebration at Raj Bhavan on June 2 to mark the foundation days of Telangana, Sikkim and Goa. The event, held under the national Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, highlighted the shared values and cultural bonds that connect states across India despite geographical distances.
During the ceremony, Parnaik praised each state for its unique contributions to the nation. He highlighted Telangana for its progress in innovation and economic growth, Sikkim for its dedication to sustainability and environmental conservation, and Goa for its extensive historical and cultural legacy. He noted that all these regions share common ground with Arunachal Pradesh, particularly regarding their respect for indigenous traditions, thriving handicrafts and handloom sectors, and high tourism potential.
The governor emphasized that community values and a deep connection to nature remain central to Indian society. He stated that the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme plays a vital role in fostering national unity and building stronger ties between citizens from different parts of the country.
The celebration featured performances of traditional music and dance representing the cultures of all four states. Attendees also viewed video messages sent by Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur and Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to commemorate the occasion.
