Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh cabinet has approved a one-year extension on the upper age limit for candidates impacted by recent delays in the 2022 Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission recruitment process. This decision provides a vital opportunity for individuals who became ineligible while waiting for examinations that were stalled due to administrative disruptions.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced the measure on June 16 to ensure that those who applied during the original advertisement period remain eligible to compete. By offering this relief, the state aims to rectify issues caused by circumstances outside the control of the applicants.
Regarding the government's motivation, Khandu said, "no deserving candidate should be deprived of an opportunity due to circumstances beyond their control."
This policy change is intended to promote fairness within the public service selection system. Aspirants who faced the threat of aging out of the recruitment process have welcomed the move, which allows them to participate in upcoming exams despite the prolonged timeline of the commission.
