Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu participated in the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam plantation drive on Saturday at the Government Secondary School in Chimpu. The event was coordinated by the state branch of the BJP in partnership with the State Minority Morcha.

Local residents, party workers, students, and various volunteers gathered at the school to plant saplings throughout the premises. Addressing those in attendance, Khandu emphasized that such initiatives should move past simple symbolic acts. He stated, "Planting trees is not something we do once a year and forget. It must become a lifelong mission."

Khandu noted that these environmental efforts contribute to cleaner air and a healthier future for the next generation. He also tied the campaign to the federal government, observing that the initiative highlights the necessity of balancing national development with ecological responsibility as the country marks twelve years of leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At the conclusion of the event, the Chief Minister thanked the various groups for their active participation in the drive.
