Itanagar: Chief Minister Pema Khandu laid the foundation stone for a new State Emergency Operation Centre and State Disaster Management Authority building on Friday. Located at the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar, the ceremony included officials Techi Kaso, Nakap Nalo, and Rode Bui.

This facility will centralize the state's disaster preparedness and emergency response efforts. The building design incorporates advanced control rooms, modern communication systems, and dedicated conference space to bring critical functions into a single hub.

The project serves as a central nerve center for real time monitoring and coordination during natural disasters. By integrating these services, the government expects to accelerate decision making, improve cooperation between departments, and significantly reduce response times during future crises.
