Itanagar: The Sangeet Natak Akademi has honored two artists from Arunachal Pradesh for their significant roles in preserving and promoting traditional arts. Rumi Taki and Domin Karbak received recognition from India's national academy for music, dance, and drama during a recent ceremony.
Rumi Taki was presented with the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar. This award highlights the achievements of young artists in music, dance, and drama, specifically recognizing Taki for her work in folk theatre and traditional folk dance.
Domin Karbak received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for his dedication to safeguarding the indigenous traditions and cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. His efforts have been instrumental in enriching the state's artistic legacy.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised both artists for their contributions and noted that their achievements have brought pride to the region. Regarding the recipients, the Chief Minister stated, "The honours have brought immense pride to the state." He expressed his hope that both Taki and Karbak continue to find success in their future artistic endeavors.
