Itanagar: Dirang MLA Phurpa Tsering handed over his salary from the last seven months to help flood victims in Keyi Panyor. The contribution totals 7.5 lakh rupees. Heavy rains and landslides recently tore through the district, leaving families in a desperate spot.

Tsering works as an advisor to the Public Works Department minister. He urged fellow leaders and residents in his home district of Dirang to step up and provide extra support to those suffering in the flood zone.

The state faces a rough patch. Tsering said, "The state is passing through a difficult period and called for collective efforts to help those impacted by the disaster." Relief operations are ongoing as the region recovers from the flash floods and debris.
