Itanagar: Rural Works Minister Passang Dorjee Sona wants more roads. He issued strict orders on July 8 to speed up construction under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and the Vibrant Villages Programme. The minister reviewed progress across several districts to find what is slowing down the crews.

Sona demanded results. He told officials to clear bottlenecks and stick to deadlines. The goal is better access to schools, hospitals, and markets in remote border regions. He emphasized that building roads helps the state grow.

The minister spoke directly to the staff during a project review meeting. "Quality infrastructure should reach the people without unnecessary delays. Every project must be implemented efficiently, transparently and in accordance with the prescribed timelines," Sona said.

Field engineers must work together now. The Vibrant Villages Programme specifically targets border areas to improve life for residents. Officials must follow these new instructions to finish all projects on time.
