Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor K. T. Parnaik is pushing for an impartial investigation into the intimidation and threats leveled at the director of the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology. He met with Home Minister Mama Natung at Raj Bhavan to address the growing disorder. The situation is volatile.

Parnaik signaled that coercion against institutional heads ruins the learning environment for students. He told officials that any attempt to undermine the credibility of these schools must face firm legal consequences. He stated, "Educational institutions must remain safe, secure and conducive to learning."

Tension at the NERIST campus exploded earlier this month after the resignation of Director Prof. Narendranath S. The fallout stems from bitter disputes over recruitment rules and disciplinary actions. The institute remains a flashpoint for administrative chaos.

Natung promised the state government will handle the situation with care. He pledged that a fair probe will hold those responsible accountable. The administration now faces pressure to restore order and protect the faculty and students caught in the middle of the fight.
